Giacomo Borgogno & Figli

The Giacomo Borgogno winery, in the heart of Barolo, was born from a farmer, Bartolomeo Borgogno. In 1861, the Unification of Italy was toasted with a Borgogno wine. The brilliant protagonist of the winery’s history is Cesare Borgogno, who in 1921 decided to “forget” half of the production of the best vintages of Barolo Riserva in the cellar, to put it on sale after at least 20 years. In this way, we were able to create a treasure of Barolo which is still proudly preserved today. Borgogno is Barolo, Langhe and Derthona. Fermentation in concrete and long refinements in large Slavonian oak barrels. In 2019 a new milestone: the organic certification, followed by the Equalitas certification in 2024, as Sustainable Winery.
