Dolcetto d’Alba DOC

Dolcetto d’Alba DOC: an everyday wine with an ancient heart
History and origins
The hills of southern Piedmont, particularly those of Miocene origin located to the right of the Tanaro River, have been the home of Dolcetto for centuries. Deeply linked to the history and culture of the region, this grape is among the most widespread in Piedmont. The first evidence of its presence dates back to the medieval period, when it was likely used for trade with Liguria.
Production area
The Dolcetto d’Alba DOC production area is divided into two main regions: the territories near the Barolo area and those extending from Alba towards the Belbo Valley.
Organoleptic characteristics
Dolcetto d’Alba is a fresh and fragrant wine with a ruby red color and violet reflections. The aroma is intense and fruity, with notes of blackberry, cherry, and bitter almond. The taste is dry, full-bodied, and harmonious, with a pleasant almond aftertaste.
