Alta Langa DOCG

Alta Langa DOCG: the excellence of Piedmontese sparkling wine
History and origins
Alta Langa DOCG is the result of a long-standing sparkling wine tradition in Piedmont, dating back to the second half of the 19th century when the first sparkling winemaking methods inspired by Champagne were experimented with. After decades of research and refinement, it received DOC status in 2002 and was elevated to DOCG in 2011, cementing its place as the highest expression of classic-method sparkling wines from Piedmont.
Production area
Alta Langa DOCG is produced exclusively in the provinces of Cuneo, Asti, and Alessandria, in vineyards located at a minimum altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The cool climate and limestone-rich soils promote slow grape maturation, contributing to the fine aromas and lively perlage.
Organoleptic characteristics
Alta Langa DOCG is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes using the classic method, with a minimum aging of 30 months on the lees. The color ranges from straw yellow with golden reflections in the white versions to delicate pink hues in the rosé variants. The bouquet is elegant and complex, with aromas of bread crust, citrus, dried fruit, and white flowers. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and creamy, with a long aromatic persistence.
