Piazzo Comm. Armando
A visit to Piazzo winery means being welcomed into an intimate, family atmosphere, immersing yourself in the culture and tradition of Langhe not only through its wines, but also through the unique family story that fascinates and excites. The Winery is located just few kilometers from the historic center of Alba and was born from Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia’s dream: in the 1960s they decided to stay and believe in their land, poor and desolated, very different from the one we live now. The farsighted and unconventional idea of investing then in the flagship grape, Nebbiolo, proved to be a difficult but a winning one. Today, the company owns 70 hectares of vineyards, 60% of which is planted with Nebbiolo. The winery, led by daughter Marina, her husband Franco, and their sons Simone and Marco, offers a representative selection of traditional wines that follow an artisanal production philosophy: the wines are modern classics, expressing a refined tradition that is increasingly attentive to environmental sustainability.
