Poderi Colla

The Colla family’s history is deeply intertwined with the evolution of Piedmontese wine production. In 1894, Pietro Colla was born, who worked at Gancia di Canelli from 1909, learning the techniques of the champagne method.
His son Beppe, graduated as an oenologist in 1949, became a reference point in the Alba gastronomic and wine culture. For 40 years, he owned Prunotto in Alba, introducing significant innovations such as separate vinification of crus and label indication.
In 1994, Beppe founded Poderi Colla with his brother Tino and daughter Federica, later joined by Pietro, Tino’s son. The company develops across four estates totaling 30 hectares, each in prestigious locations:
- Tenuta Dardi le Rose: Bussia, 8 hectares, of which 6 are Nebbiolo for Barolo, with the first “Bussia” Barolo produced in 1961.
- Tenuta Roncaglie: 13 hectares in the Barbaresco DOCG area, with Nebbiolo and Barbera.
- Bricco del Drago: 25 hectares, of which 14 are planted, with Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, and Pinot Noir.
- Tenuta Bricco Bompè: home to the modern wine production and aging cellar.
The family’s production approach is based on principles of naturalness, originality, and purity. Poderi Colla wines reflect the terroir, microclimate, and vintage characteristics, distinguishing themselves through balance, elegance, and complexity. Each production is an expression of family experience and dedication, evolving uniquely with each vintage.
