Cadia

Cantina Cadia: A Tale of Passion and Territory
The Cadia Winery takes its name from the hill where its vineyards reside, once considered the most suited area for producing quality wines in Roddi. This calcareous, strong, and dry soil lends itself magnificently to the cultivation of various crops, but it is the vineyard that benefits the most from the gentle slope and excellent exposure. These characteristics ensure a full and complete maturation of the grapes.
A Diversified Territory
The landscape of Cadia is a mosaic of crops where, alongside the vineyards, hazelnut groves extend. Of the 18 hectares that make up the estate, 12 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines and 6 host the hazelnut grove, where our prized Tonda Gentile Trilobata grows. The vineyards are located along the ridge that extends from the Monvigliero hill in Verduno, known for Nebbiolo da Barolo, to the heart of Roddi. All the vineyards benefit from a favorable South-East exposure, while geographically, the estate is positioned South-West of Alba, just 5 km away.
The Birth of Cadia
Founded in 1996 by Bruno, the Cadia Farm started producing and trading wine, maintaining a family-run management to this day. Cadia produces as many as 9 types of wine, which include whites like Langhe Arneis, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, and reds such as Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba Superiore, Nebbiolo, and Barolo. Additionally, the Verduno Pelaverga, a small native grape variety from the Verduno area, is also cultivated.
The Balance of Wine
Every stage of production, from the vineyard to the cellar, plays a crucial role; wine is essentially a balance between natural factors and human commitment. Every glass of Cadia encapsulates the essence of experiences lived in the vineyard and cellar, deeply connected to the Langhe territory from which it originates.
