Paola Oberto

My family has been cultivating vineyards in La Morra since 1800, where my father Luigi began producing Barolo in 1960. I was therefore very fortunate to inherit my father and grandfather’s passion for vines and wine, which I combine with the viticulture and oenology techniques I learned at the University of Turin. Now I cultivate my vineyards located in the municipalities of Cherasco and La Morra, focusing on maintaining the natural fertility of the soil and respecting the natural rhythms of the plants, intervening as little as possible in the vineyard. In 2024, I obtained SQNPI certification for sustainability. The small size (2.5 hectares) allows me to personally oversee all stages of cultivation. The Barbera, Nebbiolo and Favorita vineyards are located at 350 metres above sea level, enjoying excellent temperature variations and the best exposures. From these rich and well-balanced grapes, I produce Langhe Favorita Sansussì, Langhe Nebbiolo Matiné, Langhe Rosso Clarascum, Barbera d’Alba Superiore Santa Caterina and Barolo La Morra, wines of remarkable character and complexity that fully express the characteristics of the grape varieties and terroir of origin.
