Producers of Barolo and the great wines of the Langhe in Serralunga d’Alba. Born in 1858 from the love story between the first King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, and Rosa Vercellana, we have always been a community united around respect for the land, today with 120 hectares of ORGANIC-certified vineyards, which frame Italy’s first Narrative Village. In 2020, a new Fontanafredda is born, better than before and more respectful of the planet, putting the earth at the center, to give life to a great world community built on trust in others, and the tool to do this is precisely wine, green wine. The philosophy is to best enhance the character of each individual wine, returning to tell the story of the uniqueness of the land, in each individual MGA, even more so in each individual vineyard, enhancing the biodiversity of the Langhe and preserving its historical memory. Fontanafredda is one of the 181 MGAs named after the eponymous amphitheater of vineyards counted in the initial part of the commune of Serralunga d’Alba. At the heart of the Fontanafredda M.G.A. are four of Fontanafredda’s most historic and representative vineyards: vigna La Rosa , Vigna S. Pietro, Vigna Bianca and Vigna Gallareto. Also in Serralunga, Vigna La Delizia vineyard, in the Lazzarito MGA, and in Barolo, Vigna La Villa vineyard, in the Paiagallo MGA, dating back to the royal era wanted by Emanuele Alberto, son of the first King of Italy.
