There is a lot of history within the “Castello di Verduno” company which today is owned by Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco. The great history, that of the Savoys and King Carlo Alberto, and the small history of the Burlotto and Bianco families, which were intertwined around a single great passion, that for the most noble of vines: Nebbiolo. After fifteen years spent in Eritrea, in 1950 Commendatore Giovanni Battista Burlotto returned to Verduno and thought of creating a food and wine meeting point with the possibility of staying. Now the three daughters of the Commendatore and their respective families dedicate, with passion, their time to what is now the Castello di Verduno: hotel, restaurant, cellar and agritourism. The production choices aim to obtain wines whose qualitative characteristics are attributable to the territory of centuries-old winemaking tradition of which we are part. We believed in our vines: now Nebbiolo, Barolo and Barbaresco have grown in quality and prestige on markets all over the world. Castello di Verduno can boast, thanks to the hectares of property between the hills of Verduno and Barbaresco, the most precious wine jewels of Langa: Barolo, Barbaresco and Verduno, a small wine pearl fruit of the Pelaverga piccolo vine of which the company owns the first pure vineyard to have been planted in the production area.
