Agrisalumeria Luiset – COLD CUTS

Posted on: February 11th, 2013 by Mario Ferrero

The salami at the Agrisalumeria Luiset are produced exclusively with fresh meat coming from pigs in excellent health condition, bred and fattened in condition of wellbeingon our farm situated in Ferrere (Asti).
At the AgriSalumeria Luiset all stages of animal nutrition and meat processing are constantly monitored, which results in lean, healthy meat low in cholesterol but rich in vitamins and other nutrients. The base value of our farm is founded on experience gained from years of work by grandfather Gino in the farms all around the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato areas, as massacrin (the art of butchery). The result is a salami with coarse grain meat, a spiced, sweet and delicate flavour and an intense fragrance, due to an accurate and scrupulous aging.
Absence of Gluten- absence of added milk products.

Agricola Gian Piero Marrone

A four generations passion

History of the farm

Azienda Agricola Marrone can be found in Annunziata near La Morra, in the middle of the Langhe of Barolo, which overlooks the medieval town of Alba. The farm is founded on making excellent wines that demonstrate the intense flavors of the Langhe area and are different from typical commercial styles.

For four generations Agricola Marrone has run grandfather Pietro’s work, which is a guarantee of quality.

Today is Gian Piero, Pietro’s grandson, together with his wife Giovanna and their three daughters Denise, Serena and Valentina, who accomplish the activity of his grandfather with the same passion and dedication.

The vineyards

Today the company vineyards are located in different positions, allowing Agricola Marrone to grow different grape varieties (Arneis, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Barolo and Moscato) in the best soil and position. The oldest vineyards are 60 years old: the old vines allow to produce wines of exceptional quality, with excellent ageing potential and traditional styles, thanks also to the traditional ways of working, first of all in the fields, where the harvesting is done manually, and there is no use of pesticides or chemicals, which are dangerous to the health and the environment.

The land where Agricola Marrone is located is formed of various soil compositions, in fact Nebbiolo vines, planted in an area of around 40 kilometers diameter, produce very different wines, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero and Nebbiolo d’Alba.

The cellar

Agricola Marrone produces around 200.000 bottles per year, with the production increasing every year, thanks to production from new vines.

The cellar, recently restored, can be visited all year round on appointment, with the possibility to organize a guided tasting. In the shop you will find artisan biscuits, extra virgin olive oil, honey, rice, truffle-based products, and wine, of course…

The cellar will be open every day on December and January, except December  25th, 26th, 30th, 31st and January 1st.
