Mauro Molino is a family-owned winery founded by Mauro in 1982. After inheriting the family vineyards from our grand-father, our father Mauro immediately decided to produce his own wines.

Leaded by his passion for agronomy and love for the Langa area, he started to make a lot of research to find the best vineyards in La Morra, where he bought most of the plots in the 90’s. In the early 2000s (2003 and 2008) the second generation of the Molino family – Matteo and Martina – joined the company. Both graduated at the Enological School of Alba, they suddenly brough dynamism, enthusiasm and innovation to the company but without forget their tradition.

They now lead the winery with passion always trying to communicate in the best way possible their philosophy, the love for the territory and sustainable projects.  They currently own 20 hectares and produce 160000 bottles per year

The vineyards Pianromualdo, Sant’Anna, Trenta, Mosconi, Giudice e Ravera di Monforte are the main assets of the winery as part of suited zones and subzones of the most important maps of Langa. Over the years the winery amplifies transforming into a small cellar and starts a small bottles production. Giovanni decides achieving remarkable results with his wife Caterina to enhance the wine-making and using the help of oenologist Piero Ballario the range of wines Rocca comes to life.

Assisted by his son Maurizio and daughter-in-law Ilaria, winery now produces about 80,000 bottles a year of the following wines: Langhe Chardonnay Doc, Dolcetto d’Alba “Vigna Sant’Anna” Doc, Barbera d’Alba Doc in the two versions, regular and “Vigna Pianromualdo”, Nebbiolo d’Alba Doc “Giaculin”, Langhe Rosso Doc “Rucat”, Barolo Docg, Barolo Docg Ravera di Monforte (with the previously mention “Bricco Ravera”) and Barolo Docg Mosconi.

Vietti

Posted on: September 4th, 2023 by Mario Ferrero

Almost 150 years have passed since its foundation. It was the end of 1800 when Carlo Vietti started the Vietti
winery, right in the heart of the Langhe, on the highest point of the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto. In the
very same place where it is located today.

In 1917, returning after many years from living in the United States, Mario Vietti, Carlo’s son, took the reins of
the company, transforming it into a winery suitable for the production of high-quality wines.

At the end of the 1950s, Alfredo Currado, husband of Luciana Vietti, oenologist, and art lover, put into relation the great experience of the Vietti family with new intuitions, capable of intertwining wine knowledge with art and culture.

In 1961, one of the first Barolo Crus was produced by Vietti: Rocche di Castiglione. In 1967, the first vinification
of Arneis took place. Starting from 1974, the wines were accompanied by Art Labels. The Vietti brand thus
became an icon and standard-bearer of some of the most important revolutions of that time.

The intellectual, professional, and prospective legacy of Alfredo Currado and Luciana was taken up first, during
the 80s, by their son-in-law Mario Cordero and then, starting from the 90s, by their son Luca Currado Vietti,
subsequently accompanied by his wife Elena.

Commitment and vision, culture, and passion. These are the keywords that have contributed to the growth of
the Vietti winery and brand, universally recognized today among the best Italian wine labels. The path of quality
is traced, thanks to the respect for tradition and careful experimentation, where man and earth have always
been able to dialogue.

In 2016, the Krause Family purchased Vietti. Once again, it is man’s intuitions that make the difference. Kyle
Krause decided to extend the winemaking properties with new, renowned crus in the denomination of Barolo
and Barbaresco. In the Colli Tortonesi area, thanks to the purchase of vineyards, the production of Timorasso
had its beginning.

Beginning of 2023, Luca Currado Vietti, together with his wife Elena, departed from the Winery. The Heritage is
taken over by the Krause Family, already owner of the Cellar since 2016 and standard-bearer of the new future
of the Vietti brand.

As the seasons progressed, the company also grew and the focus on improvement soon became a real distinctive
style of the winery. Just like the selection and care in the vineyard. Today, Vietti counts, within its heritage, some
of the finest and most representative vineyards of the Barolo and Barbaresco areas.

As in the past, Vietti maintains those founding values, the same that animated Carlo Vietti at the beginning, and all his successors then. It looks towards the future with even more promising and stimulating prospects. Each wine is the result of artisanal work and the profound understanding and interpretation of each individual terroir. Vietti is thus the place where the intelligence of the hands, applied in the vineyard and the cellar, meets the vision.

Tenuta Cucco

Tenuta Cucco began as a winery in the 1960s. In the local dialect “cucco” indicates the hilltop location of the oldest part of the vineyard, inside the Cru Cerrati.

Variety and richness are nature’s best ally

The winery offers a breathtaking view of the peaks of mount Monviso, the hills with vineyards and the Castle of Serralunga d’Alba with its remarkable narrow structure, in an iconic Italian landscape

The grapes of Cru Cerrati and Vigna Cucco have a long history of excellence: for centuries local winemakers have prized them for their unique qualities and characteristics, using them only to produce their finest Barolo wines.

In 1966 the Cappellano family sold Tenuta Cucco to the Stroppiana family, which in turn constructed the first winery. Towards the end of 2015 the estate passed to the Rossi Cairo family, which for 18 years has run the organic and biodynamic farm La Raia in Novi Ligure. Here they produce Gavi DOCG and Piemonte Barbera DOC certified by Demeter promoting an agriculture that is not only sustainable but that also preserves the vitality of the soil for future generations to enjoy.
