As part of the IO Barolo event, Strada del Barolo e Grandi Vini di Langa, Associazione Turismo in Langa and Cantina Anselma Giacomo will organize an apericena; an evening meeting to drink wine and eat appetizers, complimented by a night-time walk to the bottom of the Castle of Serralunga d’Alba (CN).
An extraordinary story teller, the mercator vinarius, a wine merchant, of the ancient Pollentia, entertaining with tales on ancient wines, a buffet with products of Langa and red wines of Cantina Anselma Giacomo and, finally, an amazing guided night tour through the historical centre of Serralunga d’Alba are the ingredients of an event that is not to be missed.

HAPPY HOUR WITH THE MERCATOR VINARIUS

Associazione Turismo in Langa, in cooperation with Cantina Anselma Giacomo, for the event of Strada del Barolo e Grandi Vini di Langa “IO Barolo”, organizes a happy hour, apericena in Italian, with entertainment and a night-time visit to Serralunga d’Alba (CN), one of the villages belonging to the union of municipalities bound together by wine and cultural traditions.

To discover all the secrets of the Barolo Langa wines, and to listen to stories and anecdotes on the ancient wines of the Roman period, thanks to a special story teller, a time travelling merchant from ancient Pollentia, who will appear, as if by magic, among the guests to entertain them with his gift of the gab.

The Happy hour with the mercator vinarius will be an opportunity to taste a buffet, that in Piemontese dialect is called merenda sinoira, with cold dishes and appetizers made with products of Langa matched with red wines produced by Cantina Anselma Giacomo.
The public will be able to listen to the stories of a strange character, a lover of good drinking as well as history and architecture. With a full stomach, at the end of the merenda sinoira, a late afternoon snack in Piedmontese dialect, the mercator vinarius will take part in an evocative guided night tour to the historical centre of Serralunga d’Alba.
There will be the opportunity to admire the medieval castle, right to the base of its majestic tower, walk across the arches of Porta Alba and Porta Roddi, up to the church of San Sebastiano, and then back to the cellar for a last farewell toast and a final look at the breathtaking view of the hills.

La Morra ideally becomes the entire Langa of the Barolo wine, with the producers who will offer tastings of the Barolo 2008.

La Morra, Sunday 24th June, from 11am to 7pm

In every corner of La Morra there will be tastings of  Barolo DOCG 2008 and other great wines of Langa, together with traditional products. In the afternoon, street artists will entertain the children at the panoramic viewpoint.
A huge open-air party with more than 30 producers from the 11 municipalities of the Barolo Langa: walking in La Morra will be like taking a stroll on the Strada del Barolo e Grandi Vini di Langa, the Trail that connects the places where the Great wines of Langa are produced.
