Moscone

Posted on: December 17th, 2019 by Mario Ferrero

Since 1877 the Moscone family started its activity as a producer in Monforte d’Alba taking advantage of the excellent quality of the land and vineyards present in the Langhe area. A choice that over time and with the right dedication bears fruit and allows heirs Giacinto and Livio, together with his wife Luciana and their daughter Sara, take a real treasure to cultivate and share with passion. The Moscone company owns 18 hectares of vineyards allocated between the hills of Monforte d’Alba and in particular of the Bussia area, an area particularly renowned for the production of wine thanks to the adequate ventilation and excellent fertility of the land. Here are the most important Piedmontese traditional wines known and appreciated all over the world.

The company is currently run by Sara Moscone who, together with her cousin Marco, cultivates the family vineyards in Monforte d’Alba. Three generations of winemakers and now a new story, free from conditions and conditioning.

In 2022, the new winery in La Morra was inaugurated, inside a large room dedicated to tastings and organized events. The goal is to favor the direct experience of wine, without rushing, with the possibility of going out into the open air and reaching the company’s vineyards in Monforte d’Alba.

Giovanni Rosso

SERRALUNGA

Welcome to Azienda Agricola Giovanni Rosso. We are a small family-owner producer in heart of the Barolo commune of Serralunga d’Alba. We make only red wines, and our passion is for Barolo and its great grape, Nebbiolo.

Since the 1890’s the Rosso family has farmed vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, notably the Cru of Cerretta, Serra, Broglio, Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bella, Lirano & Damiano. During the early 1980’s Giovanni rosso restructured the vineyards with the aim of growing the best fruit.

Giovanni’s son, Davide, studied Enology and gained invaluable experience in France. In 2001 Davide, then 27 years old, took charge of the vinification & affinamento/elevage of the wines with one goal in mind: <<Wine should be a perfect copy of its terroir>>. In this case from the slopes of Serralunga d’Alba, among the finest soils in the word.

ETNA

Davide Rosso has been looking for many years for a new terroir where he colud face a new challenge himself.

The side-project was officially born in May 2016 with the purchase of the Etna estate near the village Solicchiata of Castiglione di Sicilia. The farm rises a few kilometers before Passopisciaro down to Montedolce, a small inactive crater that gives the name to the Contrada. We are in the northeast side of the volcano, a perfectly suited area for the production of red wines. The new holdings extend for fourteen hectares in on single plot among which just something more than six hectares in one are dedicated to viticulture: 1.2ha for the whites and 5.5ha for the reds. Carricante and Nerello Mascalese with small percentages of other local grape varieties, as the tradiction requires.

Bel Colle

Posted on: February 13th, 2018 by Mario Ferrero

45 years ago brothers Franco and Carlo Pontiglione and Giuseppe Priola, founded Bel Colle.

The basis of the ideological understanding that inspired the work was the hedonistic concept of producing quality wines respecting the local customs and at the same time satisfying the consumers’ taste. This was achieved thanks to the collaboration with enologist Paolo Torchio who led the winery from 1980 until 2015, the year Bel Colle became part of Bosio Family Estates group.

The Bosio family, producers for 4 generations, has renewed the cellar technologies, without renouncing to the tradition: vinification in steel, refinement of the great red wines in large barrels of French and Slavonian oak.

Réva

Posted on: August 25th, 2017 by Mario Ferrero

When tradition encountered innovation, the result was Réva, a new enterprise located on the San Sebastiano Estate in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langhe, established in 2013.

Meticulous care and maintenance of the vineyards, respect for the characteristics of each grape variety, the use of modern technology and the choice of traditional winemaking methods express the identity Réva, which counts promotion of the area’s most-planted grape varieties, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo, as one of its primary aims. All production processes are focused on sustainable, organic wine-growing and minimizing the impact of all agricultural and oenological practices. Réva dedicates meticulous attention to the maintenance of the flora and uses only certified bio products and organic fertilizers.

The FRE Restaurant can accommodate up to 30 diners and it offers several dishes “à la carte” and two different tasting menus. Depending on season and weather, the guests will have the opportunity to eat on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. The guests can also opt for a light lunch at the restaurant’s Bistro, located on the pool-side terrace.

VISIT AND TASTING REVA
We will be happy to guide you on a visit to our Réva winery.
We always start with an overview of the vineyards and then visit the winery (vinification area and aging area) and conclude with the tasting of 4 wines (including our Barolo Classico DOCG).
Duration: 1 hour/1 hour and a half;
Price: euro 18,00 per person (4 wines)

NEWS! With the new season 2019 Réva sets itself the goal of making the territory more known to the many visitors who come to visit us every year. For this reason, we added a different visiting option, which assumed a more thorough visit of the winery, with one that has the protagonist the vineyard.

Always at the same price we give an extra option to our normal visit, with the possibility to take a longer walk in one of our vineyards and address different topics, more in-depth on terroir, expositions, prunings, annual interventions and climate change.
