The initiative will be hosted in the scenic Cloister of Magnolia at Fondazione Stelline located in an ancient monastery of the fifteenth century, now used as a multifunctional space. The complex encloses a secret garden and a place that brings with itself fascinating stories: it is said that the whole area was once part of the famous Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vineyard.
Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 17.00 to 22.00 the inner corridors of the cloister will become an ideal route through the Langhe and the Tortonesi Hills where the Milanese wine lovers will have the opportunity to taste different labels of Barolo DOCG and Timorasso Derthona Doc. Twenty producers will personally present the multiple facets of these wines, offering different cru and vintages to taste.
The tastings will be paired with live music and excellent agri-food products presented by companies associated with Strada del Barolo and Terre Derthona and by I Barolisti, a winery with restaurant in the heart of Milan, which boasts a selection of over a hundred labels and offers menus with typical Langa dishes.
The public will have access to the garden overlooking the cloister: the perfect place enjoy food and wine and chill outdoor in a unique and charming location equipped with chairs and tables.
During the event there will also be interesting opportunities for further study: two tasting moments, at 18.00 and 19.15, led by Danilo Poggio, journalist, and Chiara Giannotti of Vino TV, writer. Some producers will also join these meetings, talk about their experience and propose, for tasting, a particularly representative wine of their companies not included among those displayed on the tasting desks set up in the cloister.
The cost of the entrance ticket is € 40.00 per person and includes unlimited tastings, in addition to the glass of Strada del Barolo and the cup holder. To access the tasting lounge there is an extra cost of € 5.00 per person on the entrance ticket.

On the occasion of Vinum, the National Wine Fair of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, held in Alba from 23 April to 8 May 2022, the Strada del Barolo organizes two tours in the Barolo vineyards, to discover the excellence and prestige of some of the most famous “MGA“, Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive, in English Additional Geographical Indications, often known as “cru”, from which the “King of Wines” originates. A journey through some of the main production areas of Barolo, dedicated to passionate wine lovers interested in knowing the factors that determine the character and the infinite facets that Barolo can take.
The geological composition of the soil, the exposure, the slope and the altitude combine with the human factor and contribute to determine the character of this great wine: these factors can be summarized with the term “cru”, a word borrowed from the French, which indicates the portion of a vineyard with peculiar characteristics, a unique microclimate and – inevitable and decisive – the work of man. A magical microcosm capable of making each wine unique.
The purpose of the tour is to make this concept understood in a simple and “experiential” way, through a circular path, with a visit to three Barolo vineyards, accompanied by a professional sommelier, to learn about the peculiarities of soil, climate and human work that have determined the characteristics that will be found in the glass. The visit will end with the tasting of the three Barolo wines of which the vineyards were visited, explained by the sommelier and paired with cheeses and cured meats, at the winery of one of the producers involved.
The tours will be held on Sunday 24 April and Saturday 7 May, with departure at 9.30 from the stands of Vinum, in Piazza Medford 3 in Alba (CN), and return around 14.00. The groups will then move with a 30-seater minibus and will be accompanied by Emanuel Mattea, sommelier and AIS taster, a Nebbiolo lover, and professor of the Wine Tasting Experiences® of the Strada del Barolo.
Sunday 24 April:
The tour will be in Italian, with the possibility of translation into English.
The cost of the ticket is € 40.00 per person and includes the guided tour by minivan and the tasting of 3 glasses of Barolo and a mixed platter of cold cuts and cheeses.
After two years of absence, Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa returns to Turin with two days of tastings at the prestigious and fascinating Palazzo Barolo. This is one of the most important Baroque noble residences in Turin, which, thanks to the last Marquises of Barolo, Carlo Tancredi Falletti and Giulia Colbert, became the most famous Turin salon of the Risorgimento, from which the Opera Pia Barolo began.
On 26 and 27 February 2022, Palazzo Barolo will host 15 producers of Strada del Barolo, who will take turns to offer the public of Turin wine lovers two evenings of high-level tasting in the fascinating seventeenth-century spaces of the ancient and noble cellars where once Barolo refined, a wine which became famous thanks to the foresight and modernity of the Marquises of Barolo.
For each of the two evenings, participants will be guided on a journey to discover the “King of Wines”, Barolo, which the producers of Strada del Barolo will present in person in its many facets, offering different crus and vintages for tasting.
The tastings will be accompanied by excellent agri-food products from the Piedmont area.
Both evenings will be preceded by a tasting-salon led by the sommelier Sandro Minella and the journalist Danilo Poggio: “The women of Barolo: from Giulia Colbert to today’s female producers”, with the interventions of some producers who will tell their experience and propose in tasting a wine particularly representative of their companies, not present in the room during the tasting.
The cost of the entrance ticket is € 40.00 per person and includes unlimited tastings, in addition to the glass of Strada del Barolo and the cup holder. To participate in the tasting-salon there is an extra cost of € 5.00 per person on the entrance ticket.
Participants in the event will also be entitled to a € 2.00 discount on the ticket to the exhibition “Andy Warhol Super Pop” set up at Palazzo Barolo and they will receive a € 2.00 discount voucher on the (full) admission ticket to the WiMu Wine Museum in Barolo, valid until 30 April 2022.
