Io, Barolo turns 10 years old!

Saturday 9 September 2023: the great tasting event returns to the village of Castiglione Falletto to celebrate the “King of Wines” with the producers of Strada del Barolo

Io, Barolo turns 10 years old! Saturday 9 September 2023 the traditional appointment of Strada del Barolo, that has as its absolute protagonists the Barolo and its producers, reaches its tenth edition and returns to the historic center of Castiglione Falletto. Again, this year, the “King of Wines” presents itself to the national and international public in an itinerant tasting in the characteristic village of Langa, immersed in a landscape of vineyards and hills which are Unesco Heritage, in the heart of the Barolo production area.

From 16.00 to 21.30 over thirty producers will present different crus and vintages of Barolo and other wines of the territory in a “widespread” tasting, at the foot of the imposing eleventh century castle, among the most secret and fascinating spots of Langhe, which, with its massive structure dominates the medieval concentric hamlet of Castiglione Falletto.

You can access the event by purchasing a single pass at the cost of € 30.00 + €3.90** per person in online presale, or € 30.00 on site (subject to availability), which will allow you to taste the wines of all the attending producers without limits to the number of tastings. Each participant will receive a glass to take home as a souvenir of the evening and a coupon that will allow them to visit one of the wineries present at the event with a 10% discount on any purchases.

On the sidelines of the main event, there will also be two tasting-lounges led by sommelier Sandro Minella and journalist Danilo Poggio, at the little church of Sant’Anna, with the interventions of some producers who will talk about their experience and propose the tasting of a wine particularly representative of their companies, not included in the main tasting. To participate, there is an extra cost on the entrance ticket of €15.00 + €1.95** per person in online presale, or €18.00 on site (subject to availability).

  • Piedmontese mixed appetizer dish (raw meat, anchovies in green sauce and cured meats): € 15.00
  • Tajarin, traditional Piedmontese pasta, with 43 egg yolks prepared according to Langa tradition (a sauce with local Fassone veal and sausage): € 15.00

Meals will be served in 6 sittings of 45 minutes, from 16.00 to 21.00 pm.

The event is organized by Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, with the patronage of the Association for the Heritage of the Vineyard Landscape of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato and the Barolo & Castles Foundation, thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality and Pro Loco of Castiglione Falletto and Turismo in Langa.
