Fortemasso\u2019s vineyards destined to Barolo production are located on the slopes of a very steep hillside, with an elevation between 360 and 450 meters, and the soil here has a very sandy composition. A huge boulder (\u201cmasso\u201d) that dates back to 10 million years ago, stands on the highest point of the hill and gives its name to the company. This area\u2019s cool, breezy climate together with the altitude of the vineyards, determine a gradual level of ripening in the vines capable of producing grapes of the highest quality that give us contemporary Barolos of great complexity but extremely elegant. The property includes a further 10 hectares of vineyards located in San Sebastiano (Monforte), intended for the production of Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d\u2019Alba Superiore and Dolcetto d\u2019Alba.
