Narratori del Vino® Training Course
The association Turismo in Langa in collaboration with Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, in partnership with the Ente Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba and with the patronage of the Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, is organizing the second edition of the training course for Narratori del Vino®.
The initiative is promoted by the “Tavolo di Ambito Langhe e Roero”, established at the instigation of the Piedmont Region with the aim of promoting synergy between the bodies responsible for promoting wine tourism, encouraging collaborative actions aimed at greater sharing of activities and shared planning of the territory.
Wines, gastronomic traditions and high-quality agri-food products are the protagonists of the Langhe and Roero area. Therefore, the main objective of the course is to train professionals capable of effectively communicating the close link between producers, products and the territory from which they are born and to involve the public by entertaining them, exciting them and ensuring that participants identify with the history and values that these products communicate.
The course is structured in theoretical and practical lessons and guided tours capable of promoting knowledge of the history of the territory, the different soils, the varieties of vines, the sensory analysis of products, the study of the physiology of the senses.
The growing interest in tasting activities by tourists and wine lovers in the Langhe and Roero territories makes it necessary to train personnel capable of describing wines and the territory in a professional, emotional and multilingual way. This course was therefore created with the aim of training professionals who will become true “ambassadors of wines and the territory” and must be able to:
- Conduct tasting seminars in an innovative way so as to arouse positive appreciation from participants;
- Moving from the frontal presentation of products to events that engage the public;
- Involving tourists who are passionate about wine, especially foreigners, in an interactive way.
The course is aimed at sommeliers, tasters and tour guides with a good knowledge of the English language, demonstrable through official certifications reported in the curriculum or following a short interview and has a limited number of places for a maximum of 20 people. The selection will be made at the sole discretion of a commission appointed by the promoters, based on the prerequisites indicated and the availability to conduct tasting seminars in Italy and abroad.
