Aurelio Settimo

Tastings
La Morra
Since 1962 the Aurelio Settimo winery produces only DOC and DOCG status red wines, grown exclusively on estate vineyards and vinified according to tradition: 5.67 hectares (14 acres) growing Nebbiolo and 0.97 (2 acres) planted with Dolcetto.

Aurelio’s parents settled in Frazione Annunziata di La Morra in 1943, conducting mixed agriculture. The grapes were sold to large local wineries and only a small amount remained for the family to produce wine for themselves. Aurelio understood how special this land was and when his father died in 1962 he decided to specialize in viticulture. The vineyards were expanded and the AURELIO SETTIMO label was born. Since Aurelio’s death (March 2007), production and sales have been managed by his daughter Tiziana, who had already worked alongside him in the past. The Aurelio Settimo winery produces mainly Barolo wine: in fact, the vineyards all around the winery for a total extension of 6.60 hectares are 5.63 Ha of Nebbiolo for Barolo and 0.97 Ha of Dolcetto. Owners of 3.42 Ha in Rocche dell’Annunziata, historical geographical mention: here the exposure in full South-West, the microclimate and the organoleptic composition of the soil give a full-bodied Barolo but, at the same time, gentle and very fragrant. Its floral scents are typical, in particular rose… Today the company is in its fourth generation with Tiziana’s children and granddaughter. The Settimo family has continued to maintain a line of traditional products, in particular with regards to Barolo. The philosophy remains the same: focus on QUALITY, respecting TRADITION.
