On Saturday 13 September 2025, the picturesque medieval village of Roddi and its imposing castle will be the backdrop for the twelfth edition of Io, Barolo. The event, organized by Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, celebrates Barolo and its exceptional producers, offering a one-of-a-kind tasting experience.

From 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM, 37 Barolo producers will guide participants on a fascinating wine tour. The itinerant tasting will start from Piazza Umberto I and will culminate in the suggestive garden of the castle, which offers a breathtaking view of the vineyards and hills, a UNESCO heritage site, that surround the heart of the Barolo production area. Here, enthusiasts and connoisseurs will have the opportunity to taste a wide range of different Barolo crus and vintages, as well as other fine wines from the area.

Access to Io, Barolo is free and open to all. To taste the wines, you can purchase a tasting pass at a cost of 35.00 € in advance online, or 38.00 € on site (subject to availability), which allows you to taste the wines of all the producers present. Each participant will receive a glass to take home as a memento of the evening and a coupon that will allow them to visit one of the wineries present at the event with a 10% discount on any purchases. Citizens residing in Roddi are entitled to a special discount of 15.00 € on the cost of the tasting pass.

The day will be enriched by special events:

  • Tasting loungeIntertwinings. Women, Vines, Barolo” (3:00 pm – 4:00 pm): an unmissable preview inside the recently restored medieval castle. A blend of storytelling and tasting. A short theatrical interlude by Chiara Buratti introduces her conversation with two young Barolo producers: Francesca Argamante, Podere Ruggeri Corsini winery, and Sara Moscone, Moscone winery.
Stories of passion, vision, and roots to listen to and savor in a glass with a tasting of two wines not featured at the event: Barolo DOCG Bricco San Pietro 2021, Podere Ruggeri Corsini, and Barolo DOCG Bussia 2017, Moscone.
The event will have an original slant, hosted by actress Chiara Buratti, a well-known face in theater and television, with extensive experience in both the stage and media, who has often staged formats that blend storytelling and local history. The extra cost is 12.00 € per person.
  • Guided tours of Roddi Castle (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm): 4 shifts of visits will be organized to admire the restored rooms, the historic sixteenth-century kitchens and the medieval core of the castle. The extra cost is 6.00 € per person.

There will also be a gastronomic offer, with stands of producers associated with the Strada del Barolo.

The event is organized by the Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, in collaboration with the Municipality and Pro Loco of Roddi and Turismo in Langa.
