Il Barolo, Musica e Teatro

On 18 and 19 September 2024 at 7 pm, respectively at the Teatro Accademia in Conegliano Veneto and at the Teatro Ristori in Verona, the Barolo, the King of wines and wine of the Kings, met the music of Maestro Ennio Morricone, in two evenings event to enjoy and taste presented by the Strada del Barolo and great wines of Langa. A complete and fascinating sensory experience, a journey through the history and future of Barolo, accompanied by the voice of Giorgio Lupano and the immortal music composed by Maestro Ennio Morricone and masterfully rearranged and performed by the guitar of Massimo Scattolin, the violin of Paolo Tagliamento, the strings of the Venice Dream Ensemble. 
At each stage of the event there was a tasting of wines from the wineries associated with the Strada del Barolo and great wines from Langa, a symbol of prestige and oenological tradition, offering tastings of excellent food products from Piedmont.

The structure of the evenings
After the greeting of Daniele Manzone, director of the Strada del Barolo and great wines of Langa, the curtain opens with the voice of the actor Giorgio Lupano in a monologue that, starting from the story of the origins of the word “wine”, accompanies the public during the evening touching the history of wine in the world and in Italy, until reaching the history of Barolo.
The music of Maestro Ennio Morricone, rearranged by Massimo Scattolin for guitar, the violin of Paolo Tagliamento and the string orchestra of the young talents of the Venice Dream Ensemble, conquer the scene with a set schedule that provides the piece expressly dedicated to wine, “Il vino e l’uva”, composed by the master Ennio Morricone for the film “Stanno tutti bene” by Giuseppe Tornatore and the medley: “Spaghetti western”. From the Dollar Trilogy (“For a handful of dollars”, “For a few more dollars”, “The good, the ugly, the bad”) to “Once upon a time the West” and “Down with your head”. 
Followed by the performance of the medley “Love Themes”, which gathers some of the most beautiful themes of love written by the Master for many, beautiful films.
The concert ends with the performance of two other famous pieces by the maestro Ennio Morricone, “La ballata di Sacco e Vanzetti” and “Here to you”.
At a closed concert, the foyer of the theatre opens and guests can taste a selection of wines from the cellars of the Strada del Barolo and great wines from Langa, accompanied by a selection of Piedmont’s agri-food excellence.
