Strada del Barolo has trained 15 new Wine Storytellers®

The course has enabled the training of 15 professional figures who will be able to collaborate with the promoting bodies to introduce and tell with passion and competence to tourists and wine lovers from all over the world the incredible food and wine, landscape and cultural heritage of Langhe and Roero

The growing interest in tasting activities by tourists and wine lovers in the Langhe and Roero territories makes it necessary to train personnel capable of telling the wines and the territory in a professional, emotional and multilingual way. Therefore, the association Turismo in Langa, in collaboration with the Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, in partnership with the Ente Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba and with the patronage of the Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, has organized the second edition of the training course for Narratori del Vino® with the aim of training professional figures who will become true “ambassadors of wines and the territory“.

The main objective of the course, aimed at sommeliers, tasters and tourist guides with a good knowledge of the English language and with a limited number of participants for a maximum of 20 people, was to train professionals capable of effectively communicating the close link between producers, products and the territory from which they are born and to involve the public by entertaining them, exciting them and ensuring that participants identify with the history and values that these products communicate.

At the end of the course, which alternated theoretical and practical lessons with guided tours and which ended on 8 July 2023 with the final test, certificates of participation were issued to 15 professionals who will be able to use the title of Wine Narrator® and who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the project’s promoters for activities such as conducting innovative tasting seminars, presentations of the territory at events and demonstrations aimed at the public, interactive activities for tourists and wine enthusiasts, especially foreigners.

The initiative was promoted by the Tavolo di Ambit Langhe e Roero, established at the instigation of the Piedmont Region with the aim of promoting synergy between the bodies responsible for promoting wine tourism, encouraging collaborative actions aimed at greater sharing of activities and shared territorial planning. The next edition of the course will be scheduled between autumn 2024 and 2025: we will provide more details and updates on the website www.stradadelbarolo.it.
