What is happening to tourism in the Barolo area? Between a perceived decline in attendance and the risk of overtourism

I Vini del Piemonte, La Strada del Barolo and Enoteca Regionale del Barolo, in collaboration with Divinea Wine Suite and Banca d’Alba, are organizing a seminar to analyze and discuss the most recent and relevant dynamics regarding tourism in the Barolo area, scheduled for Monday 9 September from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo.

The event will feature key opinion leaders in the sector and will focus on the growing importance of food and wine tourism in the Barolo area, a key pillar of the local economy in recent years. The perceived decline in visitor numbers in the first part of the year will be discussed, offering an important opportunity to examine objective data on arrivals and compare them with those of previous years. Furthermore, we will try to analyze the fluctuating dynamics that characterize this area, where periods of intense tourist influx alternate with phases of decreasing visitors, creating significant challenges for the management of the sector.

The seminar will offer a moment of comparison to understand and discuss the causes of these phenomena, but above all to think together about possible solutions so as to contribute to the further positioning success for the territory. A valuable appointment for operators in the sector and tourism enthusiasts who want to actively contribute to the future of the Barolo area. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of the numbers and objective data collected, which will be essential for interpreting trends and planning effective strategies.

After the institutional greetings of Lorenzo Olivero, president of the Strada del Barolo, Claudio Botto, president of the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo, and Franco Biglino, Commercial Director of Banca d’Alba, Daniele Manzone, Director of the Strada del Barolo, will introduce and moderate the meeting, which will have as speakers Stefano Mosca, General Director of the Ente Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba, Francesca Baldereschi, head of Slow Food Travel, Cristiana Grimaldi, Director of the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo, and Filippo Galanti, co-founder of Divinea Wine Suite.

The seminar is open to all operators in the wine tourism sector, with particular attention to wineries.
