From the Castle to the Table

Appetizer in the castle of Roddi opened in the evening for a special visit devoted to five centuries of history.

What did it arrive on the noble tables between 1000 and 1500? Which dishes were cooked in the special occasion? Which the gastronomic traditions that have happened to five centuries of history? “From the castle to the table”, the driven visit to the castle of Roddi to discover everything on the gastronomy in medieval epoch, returns Friday September 29th to the 19.00. An occasion also to begin the weekend with an appetizer to taste to the castle.

A guide will accompany the participants in an unpublished tour of the castle of Langa – closed to the rest of the public -, through the noble plan and ancient kitchens, dating back from ‘500, to reach the preparations of the museum Giacomo Morra – the Hypocrite’s King. Among the curiosities to be discovered, also the differences among the foods to disposition of the noble and those that arrived on the tables of the farmers, the methods to cook meats and vegetables, the cultivations most local and the foods imported by the New World, besides the more seasonings in fashion.

At the end of the visit, a tasting of wines will be proposed, with a wine glass offered from the cellar Olivero Mario of Roddi and a small tasting of local products prepared from the International School of kitchen of white hypocrite of Albatɛrra cooking school”.
